Winners of Amateur Underwater Photography Contest

Sometimes the most fascinating creatures can be found hidden in the depths of the ocean. However, you only need an amateur with lens and a creative mind to bring the beauty to the surface as these entries of the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science underwater photography contest have done.

The following photographs have been taken all over the world and chosen from 700 entries submitted by people located in over 23 countries. The entries were judged in 5 separate categories;  Fish or Marine Animal Portrait, Macro, Wide Angle, Student, and Best Overall.
