Insect’s Eye – Micro Masterpiece of the Nature

Today I would like to show you the beauty of frequently encountered and, at the same, such an invisible micro masterpiece of the nature. It’s actually an eye of the insect. By watching a bunch of incredible photographs provided below, I asked myself  – What a hell is in those eyes?

After a little research I found a quiet interesting fact claiming that insect’s eye have from 3 000 to 25 000 optical units. Also, majority of them have full 360 degrees field of vision and an ability to see ultraviolet light.

J. Margaret Woodhouse of the Cardiff School of Optometry caution once said, “We must never make the mistake of thinking that only we see the world as it really is.” Despite of adaptations for different circumstances a vision of various creatures differs extremely. So, how actually the world looks like?
