Imitations of Human Organs Made From Flowers And Plants

Human organs – such a disgusting thing. Of course we can’t say literally that some of our body parts are disgusting, however I can bet that most of you guys cover your eyes while watching a surgery scene in any film. Nevertheless, Bristol-based artist Camila Carlow have found human organs beautiful and depicted them in a way no one has expected. Actually Camila decided to create a series of human organ imitation made from flowers and plants and then take the photographs of them. This series is titled “Eye Heart Spleen” and consists of 13 beautiful and eye-grabbing imitations of human organs.

Asked how did she come up with idea to make these beautiful imitation of human organs made from flowers and plants she replays, “The most fascinating and intricate of biological structures, yet we rarely pay heed to the organs inside our body. Regardless of whether we fill ourselves with toxins or nourishing food, whether we exercise or not—our organs sustain us, working away effortlessly and unnoticed. In a similar way, plants flourishing in the urban environment are a testament to nature’s indifference to our goings on. They grow out of the sides of buildings, in brick walls and between the cracks in concrete, despite of the traffic and pollution.”

I can repeat this phrase thousands of times. I love when artists create works which aren’t only beautiful, but also meaningful and capable of delivering a powerful message.
