Illusion of 1950s Created Using Realistic Miniatures
We have all seen this kind of a thing called illusion. It is extremely hard to recognise that something is fake and that’s what it makes the illusion so fantastic. Michael Paul Smith is an expert in this matter and his works make us cast about what is actually real and what is not.
Artist we are talking about today is a very skillful person which spent many years to complete this set of masterpieces. The project is set in a fictional 1950s American town called Elgin Park. Smith is noticable for his absolutely realistic miniature car models which he made himself. Not a single detail from a close-up look that gives away the secret of fakeness. He started photographing the models and compiling these miniatures with real world views. It is nice that some of nowaday artists still choose past years as a subject and remind us of good old times.
